SteelSeries has become one of the most recognizable names in the PC gaming accessory market. They’ve sponsored multiple pro gaming teams along with partnered with several game companies. The Siberia V2 is in the mid-tier of the SteelSeries line of headsets. Like the 7H, the Siberia V2 has multiple versions that are designed for the PS3 or iPad/iPhone/iPod along with a version that has a behind the neck loop. This review covers the standard PC version with microphone and audio plugs.
SOUNDS GOOD
It Even Fits Around MY Head – If you've read my review of the 7H headset, one of my biggest complaints about it was the discomfort I experienced with it after about an hour, partially because of the square earpieces, and also because I have a big head. That is not the case with the Siberia V2; the headband is very adjustable, allowing for it to fit comfortably on any size head for long periods of time.
A Little More Personality – I’m not one to care about my headset being a different color, just keep it black and I’m fine. However, for those that want their headset to have a little more individuality, or simply like color coordinating their outfits with their headset, then you’ll dig the multiple colors that are available. Those that find the typical black headset as being too “mainstream” and need something a little “hipper” may find this headset more attractive.
Where Did My Mic Go? – Headsets, in general, have kept the standard design of having a mic connected to one of the headphones via a mic arm. Like the 7H, the Siberia V2 mic is also placed in the left headphone itself. This keeps it out of the way and you also don’t have to worry about the mic arm snapping off. It’s aesthetically pleasing to look at with its minimalistic design, and works pretty well, too. The mic will have you coming loud and clear whether you're chatting in-game or on Skype.
It All Sounds So Clear – The Siberia V2 shares the same high sound quality as the the 7H. Games, music, and movies all sound loud and clear without having to raise the volume up all the way, which is a plus for those that REALLY like to turn it up.
HEAD-PHONEY
I’m Not Fully Covered – I’d like to say that this complaint is due to my big head, but I had my smaller-skulled roommate check it out and he also had this problem. When you put on the Siberia V2, the earpieces just don’t cover your ears all the way. Not only can you feel that the bottom of the ears aren’t covered, you don’t have that closed-off sound that you have with larger headsets. I expected to be totally engrossed in the audio with a headset of this quality, yet I don’t get it with the Siberia V2 because of this problem.
The Siberia V2 has everything for a gamer that is willing to pay a more for a quality headset. While the MSRP is $89.99, it can be found on sale at Amazon, and you get everything you could want: sound quality, comfort, and style. I wish the earpieces fully covered my ears, but if you have average or smaller than average ears, you shouldn't any problem.

You can purchase the SteelSeries Siberia V2 at Amazon.
